I had a funny conversation with my Mom the weekend before Christmas. Apparently, she and my Dad were changing out the window treatments for some heavier ones. She had bought new drapes for their guest bedroom/computer room and they were 95” long. She had my Dad mount the rod above the window {somewhere in between the top of the window and the ceiling}. I have told her for years about mounting the hardware and drapery higher than window top level, and I do it in my own home.
She was so excited to tell me I was right! It does look different; it does look better; and she loves it! She couldn’t stop going by the room and peeking in at it.
So, my Mom wanted me to tell you that I was right ~ you should mount your drapery hardware and drapes higher than the actual window ~ it makes quite a difference. I guess it’s a good thing I know what I’m talking about! ; )
