Old Magnets, New Look

IMG_7779_4236Based on some tips I’ve read on other blogs, I kept some business magnets that I have been receiving in the mail to use for future projects.  I had an opportunity to put a couple of them to use.

IMG_7773_4233I had printed out a “contact sheet” of pictures of my granddaughter thinking they might work as wallet size.  They were too small, but rather than just throw the sheet of pictures out, I decided to cut them out and make magnets with them!

IMG_7775_4234 I first found some scrap scrapbook paper and used the magnet to get the size.  I cut out each little picture and put it on the magnet to see how many I might get from each.  The smaller magnet will only give me two, but the larger one gives me eight.

I Mod Podged the paper to the face of the magnet.  When that dried I applied a coat of Mod Podge to the top of that.

IMG_7789_4243 I found this small piece of cardboard that was holding a little pin and it seemed the perfect size for me to cut the magnet down to and then adhere the picture on top {almost like a border or frame look}.

The great thing about this project was that I already had everything on hand and didn’t have to spend any money.  IMG_7811_4251

Great gift idea especially with the holidays not too far off.  As a stocking stuffer or combined with a magnetic memo board.  What new Mom or Grandma wouldn’t like something like this?
