I think we can all agree that you never know where inspiration is going to come from. This week I was browsing AtticMag and this is what Allison had written about:
Love ‘em! Until I found out that these little candles are $42.00 for the set of three. Mmmm, too much for me {especially for three little candles}. The old brain started grinding. I knew that I could find similar images and make my own.
These images are from Karen at The Graphics Fairy’s other blog ~ The Background Fairy. These are blog banners!
I only found the two, so I printed one of the blue bird banners in mirror image, so it would look a little different with the bird on the opposite side. I found a set of alphabet stickers that I had and they had little tiny stickers within it. I found one little crown sticker. I put that on one of the birds.
They were a little too big for regular votive candles and I didn’t want to cut away too much of the image. That meant a trip to the dollar store to get the small size prayer candles.
I put these together the same way I did my other ones here. Just to go over it quickly, here is what you need.
I find it easier to do this with the candles on their side. I put some Mod Podge on the paper and then on the candle and roll it.
If you do one mirror image, like I did, make sure you turn your candle otherwise the image will be the wrong way on the candle. I’ll need to trim up a little bit of the paper once they dry.
Here’s my version {still drying}. I think I will look for a couple of crown stickers, like the one I used on the one graphic, and add them to the other two candles.
Not bad ~ three candles for $3.00!
