This first project I did on the spur of the moment, after I found this little black frame that I had gotten with a set of various size frames.
I just took one of the scrap book papers I bought recently and used that for the background, printed out a "K" in a font I liked, painstakingly cut it out, and used double-sided tape to attach it.
I currently have it sitting on my vanity table next to my harlequin tumbler {that I got on clearance from HomeGoods and which now holds my make-up brushes and stuff. Don't be afraid to use something for a purpose other than what it was originally intended}.
This next project actually took a couple of weekends, but I finished it Saturday. I bought this wood plaque, a little spray paint in a cream color, sawtooth hangers and a pre-made vinyl quote from Michael's. I wound up not liking the paint color and I really wasn't crazy about the quote. I really just wanted one word "Dream" for the sign.
So, I took some yellow paint that we used in my daughter's room and some white paint, and mixed them together to get more of a buttery yellow color. I ordered the vinyl word "Dream" from Scribble It on Etsy, with two scrolls. I'm pleased with the way it turned out although I'm thinking it needs a little something ~ maybe a blue satin ribbon so that it looks like it's hanging from the ribbon. I'm still mulling that over.
This sign is hanging over a daybed in our small spare bedroom, which I have decorated in a French kind of style. I'll share pictures of this room one day as it's cute and I recently added something else to this room that I want to share.
The picture above shows it upside down. It doesn't look any better right side up. It was gold. I felt that it had some potential because it is not too big and not too small.
I thought that I only had black and white spray paint. I felt black would be the better of the two but I found a can of Rustoleum Anondized Bronze {the cap looks brown}. So I decided to go that route instead. Here it is newly painted and holding some of the wooden acorns I picked up at Pier 1 {in front of the hydrangeas I cut today}.
I think it looks much better than when it started out and I think it's going to be a handy piece to have around.

The next project deals with those gift baskets we all have gotten over time. Whether it holds bath and beauty supplies or cheeses and chocolates. I usually keep the baskets ~ some of the flatter round ones are great for holding bread and rolls. I have a great big metal one that has endless possiblities. Then there was this one:

That "stuff" around the top is like window screening, bunched up to look like I don't know what and wired on here and there. Here it is after I cut all the screening off.

I still think this needs a little something, too. Maybe a pretty napkin on the inside. I kind of wished it had some metal slats in that top area to weave ribbon in and out, but I may still try something with ribbon there. Here it is in another room {don't mind the phone}.

Some of these projects fall into various blog party categories that I come across every week, so I may wind up linking up to them and I will come back and add those links.
